  • 1/2 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/8 teaspoon cracked red pepper flakes
  • 2 (3 ounce) packages ramen noodles, seasoning packets discarded
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, divided
  • 1 pound sirloin steak, trimmed of fat and sliced into 1 1/2-inch strips (about 1/4-inch thickness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce and cornstarch until smooth. Add beef broth, honey, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  2. Boil water in a medium pot; cook ramen noodles for 2–3 minutes until tender. Drain and rinse under cold water; drizzle with sesame oil to prevent sticking.

  4. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and fresh broccoli with water; cover and steam for about 2 minutes until bright green.
  5. Return steak to the skillet along with cooked ramen noodles; pour the prepared sauce over everything.
  6. Toss all ingredients together as they cook in the sauce for another 1–2 minutes until well coated.
