  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • Topping: 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let sit until foamy.
  2. Add salt, canola oil, and two cups of flour; mix until combined. Gradually add more flour until soft dough forms.
  3. Knead until smooth; place in a greased bowl, cover, and rise for one hour.
  4. Punch down dough, divide into 16 pieces, roll each into a rope, cutting slits to shape into bones.
  5. Place on a greased baking sheet; let rise for another 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F and bake for 12–14 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese.
