  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 large yellow onion (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients by slicing the beef and onion, and mincing the garlic.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until golden brown (about 10 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same wok, heat another tablespoon of oil over high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned (4-5 minutes).
  4. Return the caramelized onions to the pan, add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and cornstarch mixed with water. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and slightly thickened.
  5. Serve over steamed rice or noodles.
