  • ½ green cabbage, shredded
  • 2 carrots, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ⅔ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 16oz spaghetti (1 pound box)
  • 3 ½ cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Sauté the shredded cabbage and carrots for about 5 minutes until softened.
  2. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, ground mustard, ground ginger, and garlic powder to the pot. Mix well.
  3. Break spaghetti in half and add it to the pot along with 3 ½ cups of water.
  4. Cook uncovered for 15-18 minutes, stirring occasionally until noodles are tender.
  5. Remove from heat and toss in sesame seeds before serving.
